About the Alliance
As part of our mandate to prioritize and elevate youth issues, Global Futurist Initiative is hosting regional round tables and a high-level world forum consisting of other youth-prioritized organizations to promote learning, collaboration and partnerships which will maximize impact for the principles of SDG 18 Youth Equity. The Youth Leadership Alliance is designed to facilitate collaboration between youth organizations and create intergenerational dialogue with multilateral institutions, public agencies, and the private sector.

About this Opportunity
The Global Futurist Initiative Youth Regional Leaders is a group of 15 young leaders ages 18-32 who work closely with Global Futurist Initiative leaders to elevate the voices and perspectives of young people and advance SDG 18's mandate on youth equity. In this role, members support the alliance, advocate for policy change, and bring youth voices into spaces where they are typically excluded. The Youth Regional Lead also works with Global Futurist Initiative leaders on strategic priorities and campaigns.
KEY ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITIES
- ELEVATE YOUTH VOICE: Elevate regional youth voices and perspectives by speaking at events and meetings. Amplify youth voice through media and write thought pieces on issues relevant to youth.
- SUPPORT YOUTH & VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS: Council members provide feedback and insight on current trends in engaging young people in social justice work. Partnering with Global Futurist Initiative leadership, Regional Youth Leaders will inform strategic initiatives and campaigns.
- EDUCATE AND MOTIVATE: Lead issue-specific projects to educate and inform youth, allies, and international networks on topics important to young people and Global Futurist Initiative's work.
COMMITMENT
- Commit to serve a one-year term from August 30, 2023 to September 31, 2024
- Spend between 2 hours per week working on Alliance related projects, meetings, trainings and activities ahead of respective regional round table (~2 months before your region's round table) and the world forum (September 2024). Review application schedule here for your respective region.
- Spearhead youth engagement initiatives, and thrive working on well-organized and self-motivated teams
- Attend and participate in virtual gatherings/trainings with the entire Alliance for the Youth Leadership Alliance World Forum

QUALIFICATIONS
- All applicants must be between the ages of 18-32 and live in their respective regions during their term
- Interest in community organizing, advocacy and youth-led action
- Interest in building skills in public speaking, advocating and organizing
- Members will need reliable access to the internet and a device to participate in virtual meetings.
